  • October 26: Coat Drive to Benefit United Community Ministries

    It won’t be long before winter is here, yet many living in our community don’t have access to the most basic of necessities, including adequate winter coats.

    Margarita, a student at West Potomac High School, is collecting gently used winter coats for United Community Ministries (UCM) as a service project. UCM is in desperate need of winter coats especially for children.

    If you have any gently used coats that you want to donate, contact Margarita at this e-mail address to coordinate delivery or drop-off. The deadline for coats is this Sunday, Oct. 26. Thank you for your help!

    September 13: It’s Tag Day! Will You Get “Tagged”?

    This Saturday, September 13, is Tag Day. Will your household get “tagged”?

    West Po 2On Saturday, more than 200 students from West Potomac High School’s Performing Arts Department will fan across the neighborhood, knocking on doors throughout the community. Teams of students representing the high school’s chorus, guitar, band, orchestra and theatre groups will distribute “tags” inviting neighbors to this year’s performances, and asking for donations to help cover costs.

    The generous support of this wonderful community on this day every year results in a top-notch learning experience for our young people.
