Help the environment and support a Scout in our community with his Eagle Scout Project to recycle electronic equipment to support Goodwill®. There is a local collection on April 6 or drop off anytime!
Will Rausch from Troop 1509 is working with Goodwill® through their program with Dell ReConnect to collect this equipment and properly dispose them for materials recycling. The money from the recycling of the electronics materials will go to Goodwill to support their community job programs for people with disabilities.
Equipment will be collected in an all-day drop off at Will’s home at 8608 Lombardy Lane, Alexandria from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Sunday April, 6. You can also arrange to drop off equipment at any other time between now and then by emailing Will.
Computers, displays, printers, keyboard, televisions, game systems, audio equipment and cell phones will be accepted. All computers will be electronically wiped or hard-drives destroyed to protect people’s information and computers will be broken down, not reused.
Although there are other ways to recycle, like monthly days at the Lorton Landfill, this collection is easier for you, it’s free and the money from recycling goes to a worthy cause.
